Winter Stay Autumn: The Debut Album From Sorren Maclean

Sorren Maclean presents his debut album Winter Stay Autumn, available from Monday 8 June 2015. Released by Middle of Nowhere Recordings, Winter Stay Autumn is Sorren’s first full length release as a solo artist.

The first single from the album, Rows and Rows of Boxes, will also be released on 8 June. On Sunday 7 June Sorren will perform tracks from the album at BBC Music at the Quay, a five day festival in Glasgow, with an official album launch event at An Tobar (Tobermory, Isle of Mull) on Tuesday 23 June.

Following from his EP Way Back Home, released in March 2015, Winter Stay Autumn is a highly anticipated culmination of original material written and performed by Sorren at Celtic Connections, as part of his commission with the music festival’s prestigious New Voices programme. Each year New Voices promotes and provides a platform for the very best young musical talent coming out of Scotland.

A highly regarded and in demand musician, at 25 years old Sorren is already well established in the UK folk and indie scene. Now one of Scotland's most versatile musical talents Sorren has worked closely with a range of esteemed musicians such as Roddy Woomble, Mull Historical Society, Dougie Maclean, and Donald Shaw.

A native of the Isle of Mull he is ingrained in the spirit of folk and roots music, perfectly captured in his delicately crafted compositions. His refined sound evokes the desolate beauty of the Hebrides and the warmth of his voice and guitar playing gives the listener the familiar feeling of home. There is a definitive and accomplished quality to Sorren’s sound that allows his voice and guitar to share the spotlight simultaneously.

Other current projects Sorren is working on include extensive touring of solo and support work, soundtrack work on a BBC Documentary on Alexander McQueen, and a musical collaboration with Donald Shaw on new BBC drama ‘Bannan’.

Winter Stay Autumn is launched on Monday 8 June and is available from all good record shops and digital retailers for £10.
