Mrs Bruce’s Boys - Concert and Album launch, Saturday 10th October, Adelaides, Bath Street, Glasgow.

It’s 29 years since Ian Bruce and Fraser Bruce did a Mrs Bruce’s Boys gig. This one promises to be special. Ian Bruce has been one of the major performers in Scotland’s folk music for many years. Those of an older vintage who can remember back to folk music in Scotland in the 1980s are also likely to remember Fraser Bruce. Fraser and Ian performed as soloists and together as Fraser and Ian Bruce and recorded three albums using the title Mrs Bruce’s Boys. Now after a gap of 29 years Fraser and Ian are back together sharing a concert stage to mark the release of their new album – Mrs Bruce’s Boys – released on the prestigious Greentrax record label.

Their launch concert, at Adelaide’s in Glasgow this coming Saturday, promises to be a great night. Please come along and share in the occasion. If you live a distance from Glasgow and can’t make it, keep an eye out for future appearances. Their reunion is already making waves and smart festivals are booking them for 2016 and beyond. The new album is in part a re-release of their original Mrs Bruce’s Boys LPs, together with some newly recorded live tracks of those vintage Mrs Bruce’s Boys songs. The album, and their live performances are, as they always were, full of fun and entertainment, with great singing.

We regard this musical reunion of Fraser and Ian Bruce as good news. Please help us to share this information widely.
