  • The 2 bands did an excellent concert last night at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen. Strongly recommend the remaining gigs to you, if they are in your neighbourhood. It took me a while to get around to it, but the Paul McKenna Bands latest CD Elements has 2 of the best songs Ive heard in the last 20 years [ and Ive listened to a lot of music in that time ]. They have an excellent version of The Micky Dams, a song I didnt think would work as a band song, having heard it many times by solo singers such as Kevin Mitchell, Mick West and Cathal MacConnell, but they really made a great arrangement of it.Pauls singing of the song Cold Missouri Waters is simply the most moving song Ive ever heard, down as much to his interpretation of it, as the quality of the songwriting of the author, Canadian singer songwriter James Keelaghan.Get out there and support them - a great nights music guaranteed.
