Traditional Music of the Scottish Borders

Traditional Music of the Scottish Borders is an outstanding book and CD collection of traditional fiddle music from the Scottish Borders was transcribed and recorded from the playing of Tom Hughes of Jedburgh between 1978 and 1980. A must for all fiddlers interested in exploring more of Scotland's fiddle heritage.

I must get a copy of this one.

Apparently, when Jimmy Nagle had started to learn the fiddle his teacher advised him to go and visit the "old man down the road" where he could pick up a few good tips. Of course, it turned out that the "old man" was actually Jimmy's grandfather, Tom Hughes.
  • That's a nice story
